CultureWorks expanded digital and graphic capabilities with a new grant in memory of Jill Parker.

With a generous grant from the family of Jillian Parker, CultureWorks invested in new iPads, cases, Apple pencils, and digital camera upgrades this year!

With this equipment, we’ve been able to expand our graphic design, illustration, animation, and digital photography offerings with this upgrade while ensuring accessibility for all students.  So far this year, we’ve used new iPads, equipped with the full Adobe Suite, and camera upgrades in High School & Middle School Photography, Graphic Design: Sticker Edition, Animation, and Retro Comic Design.

Photography and Graphic Design Instructor Suzy Parker writes of her sister, Jill:

Jill was passionate about working towards efforts for accessibility in her community. She had a profound and loving connection with young people and the arts. She would draw pictures with the kids she babysat and entertain the young people at church by doodling on the blue donation envelopes in the church pews.

Jill’s family continues to honor her memory through this $10,000 grant which will provide CultureWorks students access to iPads and camera upgrades. We’re so grateful for the ways in which Jill’s creativity and love for others continues to impact our community.
