Congrats to Iain, Josephine, and Giselle, who are receiving Senior Awards!

Congratulations to Josephine Suarez and Iain Foster, who are receiving $400 Senior Scholarship Awards from CultureWorks!  And congrats to our Promise Scholar Nominee, Giselle Torres, who is one of 15 students receiving a “last-dollar” (fully funded) scholarship to attend the college of her choice!

Giselle Torres

We’re delighted to announce that Holland High School Senior Giselle Torres was chosen to be one of 15 Promise Scholars, through the Community Foundation of Holland/Zeeland. CultureWorks was honored to nominate Giselle for this incredible opportunity to compete for a full-ride (“last dollar”) scholarship for higher education.

Giselle joined CultureWorks in the fall of 2017 and demonstrated artistic aptitude through a wide range of disciplines including ceramics, photography, painting, sculpture, and printmaking. Giselle approaches her creative work with a playful sense of curiosity and detachment; her willingness to take risks often leads to delightful surprises and new discoveries.

Giselle will attend GVSU and is interested in forensic science and criminal justice. Giselle was credited this spring with helping to save the life of a toddler at a school softball event, where jumped into action with CPR training from Careerline Tech.  Fox News coverage HERE.  We’re so proud of you, Giselle!

We’re so grateful for Iain and Josephine’s long-term service as Student Advisory Council members – they’ve contributed mightily to the success of our programming over the past 7 years and have volunteered a combined 298 hours through SAC and special events!
