Did you know that the Twelve Days of Christmas occur after Christmas day? Join us to commemorate the final day of Christmas to create your own putz house or village.
What does that mean? Well, In the early 1920s Germans adopted the practice of making miniature paper houses from Japan, but with a holiday twist: they would collect lovely papers and found materials for weeks leading up to Christmas in order to make small Yuletide villages and nativity scenes. “Putzen” means “to decorate,” while “putzing” means “to take your time.” Because they are both decorative and require time, the term “Putz Houses” came about.
All assembly materials used will be recycled materials and all supplies are provided. However, if your child has any found object to add to their putz creation, by all means bring it along!
