In conjunction with the NEA Big Read Lakeshore
In collaboration with the NEA Big Read Lakeshore, CultureWorks hosted a free collage workshop at the Boys and Girls Club, inspired by the work of Christian Robinson, who illustrated the Little Read selection: Last Stop on Market Street, by Matt de la Peña. After reading the book, we thought about our own neighborhoods and our connections to our community and used paste paper and magazines to help us illustrate our ideas, inspired by the work of Christian Robinson. What’s life like where we live? There’s beauty, noise, tall buildings, small houses, snowball fights, families, cats (and one stray rabbit), and loads of drama.
