During this 9-wk class, we’ll explore the intersection of photography and screenprinting. Using digital cameras, students will gather images of downtown architecture and urban landscapes and then transform them into colorful, dynamic, screen-printed artwork. Students will learn how to digitize photos and separate colors using Adobe Illustrator and emulate the multi-layer screenprinting methods of Andy Warhol. We’ll also be making prints of the iconic decommissioned power plant near downtown Holland, capturing and memorializing this nostalgic staple of the Lake Macatawa waterfront using photographs taken by Mayor Bocks and by participants in the recent Macatawa Strata workshop.
Durante esta clase de 9 semanas, exploraremos la intersección entre la fotografía y serigrafía. Usando cámaras digitales, los estudiantes recopilarán imágenes de la arquitectura del centro y los paisajes urbanos y luego las transformarán en obras de arte coloridas, dinámicas y serigrafiadas.
