Exploring the intersection of faith, photography, and stained glass.
We’re so happy to partner with Awakening for the fifth year!
Awakening is a week-long high school summer camp hosted at Hope College where students explore faith and worship through the arts. In response to this year’s “Turn My Eye” theme, we created a photographic installation for the Festival of Worship.
Students were prompted to take photos of things of worth that help them connect with God, such as architecture, nature, living creatures, etc. We then edited the photos on iPads to accentuate color and light. Our friends at Fris Supply Shop printed out students’ photos on transparencies before creating layered collages. The final backlit installation drew inspiration from the amazing stained glass windows housed at Dimnent Chapel, where the Festival of Worship occurred.
