CultureWorks featured on Stateside
Art programs, like those offered at CultureWorks, are intrinsically therapeutic because they offer students opportunities to engage with issues, connect with others, practice vulnerability and honesty, and gain confidence through self expression. In January of 2019, Michigan Radio aired a series of stories that explored the power of art to connect and transform us, through a project initiated by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs. One of our student advisors, Kat Dilka was featured on Stateside on Michigan Radio, which was aired January 29, 2019. Connect to Michigan Radio here! And check out a bit of Kat’s story here. We’re so proud of you, Kat – thank you for sharing your story! As a result of this story, 5 other students were interviewed by a Danish Journalist who was researching the power of art to help teens combat depression and loneliness. Their stories were featured in the Copenhagen based Kristeligt Dagblad newspaper in March of 2019. Follow the link below to view that article.
